Madrid çok düzenli ve temiz bir şehir. Başkent olmasının da etkisiyle tarihi yapılar iyi korunmuş ve yeşile önem verilmiş. Turist sayısının çokluğu da dikkate alınarak müzelere de gerekli önem verilmiş.

Açık ara en çok ziyaret edilen müzesi olan Museo Del Prado gelen turist sayısının çokluğu ve barındırdığı eserlerin çeşitliliği ile öne çıkıyor. Genellikle resim, süs eşyaları ve heykelleri bünyesinde barındıran bu müzeyi madride uğramışken ziyaret etmeden geçmeyin. Picasso gibi ünlü ressamların eserlerinin de olduğu bu müzeyi yılda 2,5 milyona yakın turist ziyaret ediyormuş.

Müzeye gitmeden önce biletlerinizi internetten satın alırsanız sıra beklemekten kurtulursunuz. müzenin açık olduğu saatler pazar ve tatil günleri hariç 10:00-20:00 arasıdır. Pazar günleri vetatil günlerinde ise 10:00-19:00 saatleri arasında ziyaret edebilirsiniz. Aynı zamanda Pazar günleri 17-19 saatleri arasında da girişler ücretsizdir. Ancak ücretsiz saatlerde müzenin tamamını gezmenize izin vermiyorlar.
Müzeye ulaşım ise şu şekillerde olabilir. Metro ile Atocha Station veya Banco de Espana ile gidilebilir. Otobüsle gitmek isterseniz 9, 10, 14, 19, 27, 34, 37 ve 45 nolu hatlarla gidebilirsiniz. Müzenin hemen aşağısında Real Jardin Botanico parkı bulunuyor ve 2 Euro'ya buraya da girebilirsiniz.
