How can I apply the Free Interrail?

 

If you are an EU citizen who turns 18 years old in the respective year, you can apply for the Free Interrail program online through the European Youth Portal. Here are the steps to apply:

  1. Check if you are eligible: To be eligible for the Free Interrail program, you need to be an EU citizen who turns 18 years old in the respective year of the program's operation. You also need to be registered in one of the 27 EU Member States.

  2. Create a European Youth Portal account: Go to the European Youth Portal website and create an account. You will need to provide your personal details and email address to register.

  3. Apply for the Free Interrail pass: Once you have created an account, you can apply for the Free Interrail pass. The application typically opens in June or July of each year, and you will need to complete an online application form. You will need to provide your personal details, travel dates, and preferred starting country for your Interrail journey.

  4. Submit your application: After you have completed the application form, you will need to submit it through the European Youth Portal. You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been received.

  5. Wait for the results: After the application deadline has passed, the European Commission will review all applications and select the successful candidates. If you are selected, you will receive a free Interrail pass that is valid for up to 30 days.

It's worth noting that the Free Interrail program is highly competitive, with a limited number of passes available each year. Therefore, it's important to apply as early as possible and ensure that your application is complete and accurate.
