Yapımı tam 110 yıl süren bu katedral 1993 yılında tamamlanmış ve şimdiki kral olan Felipe ile Letizia burada evlenmişlerdir. Papa 2. Jean Paul tarafından vakfedilmiş olan tek katedraldir. Madrid City Tour otobüsleri de buraya sık sık uğramaktadır.
