Palacio Real de Madrid'in hemen yanında bulunan bu katedral, Madrid'in en görkemli katedrallerinden biridir. Hala dini törenlerin yapıldığı katedrale ziyaretlerinizde bunlardan birine denk gelirseniz sessiz bir şekilde olmak kaydıyla gezebilirsiniz.


Katedralin açık olduğu saatler 2014 itibarıyla 12:00 ile 20:00 arasındadır. Buraya da metronun Opera durağını kullanarak gelebilirsiniz. Yakın olan turistik noktalardan bazıları ise Plaza de Espana, Cervantes heykeli, Jardines Del Campo Del Moro bahçeleri ve Palacio Real de Madrid sarayıdır.

Yapımı tam 110 yıl süren bu katedral 1993 yılında tamamlanmış ve şimdiki kral olan Felipe ile Letizia burada evlenmişlerdir. Papa 2. Jean Paul tarafından vakfedilmiş olan tek katedraldir. Madrid City Tour otobüsleri de buraya sık sık uğramaktadır.
