Mimarisiyle Mudejar yani İslam-Hristiyanlık kültürünün karışımı bir mimari tarzını yansıtan bu yapı ünlü Maria-Luisa Parkının içinde bulunmaktadır.  Plaza de Espana aynı zamanda bir çok filme de ev sahipliği yapmıştır. 1962 yılında çekilen Arabistanlı Lawrence, 1999 yılında çekilen Star Wars 1, 2002 yılında çekilen Star Wars 2 ve 2012 yılında çekilen The Dictator filmlerinin bazı sahneleri burada çekilmiştir. Özellikle Star Wars için çekilen sahnelerinde Naboo gezegeni olarak yer alması hayranlarının burayı görmesi açısından çok önemli.
